Festus saw growth from the Census

(Festus) The results of the 2020 Census saw a jump in population in the City of Festus. Festus has increased to almost one thousand residents since 2010. City Administrator Greg Camp says while the increase is nice, he and others were expecting a larger increase.

Camp believes the numbers are not as accurate as they should be.

There are many that believe due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Census numbers were not counted as accurately as they could have been. It’s believed many residents never filled out the information prior to the deadlines.
