(Festus) While most Jefferson County School Districts have opted to a Hybrid schedule for students at the start of the school year, there are a few schools that have stuck with attending class 5 days a week or offering an all virtual learning option.

The Festus R-6 School District is one of those districts. Festus schools Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nicki Ruess says they continue to monitor COVID-19 cases, but as of right now they are sticking with classes 5-days a week.

Dr. Ruess adds they are continuously looking ahead on the school calendar to see how COVID trends could affect the district.

Dunklin R-5 and St. Pius X are the only other schools in Jefferson County attending classes 5-days a week.

De Soto was one of those schools before adjusting to a 4-day school week.

The Windsor and Hillsboro School District’s recently approved to switch from a hybrid schedule to 4-day school weeks.

Wednesday will be considered an all virtual day for most district’s that have opted to the 4-day school week schedule.
