Festus’ Schram secures another Dream Team nod in cross country

(Festus) Ian Schram has made it clear that he is one of the best distance runners in the state.

His latest selection to the Regional Radio Dream Team is only one piece of evidence to that fact.

The Festus Tigers junior finished with all-state honors in boys’ cross country for a second straight season, improving his position from ninth to eighth at the Class 4 championships.

Schram has already been on the Dream Team 3 times across cross country and track & field, so he’s excited about what he’s already accomplished.

Schram has already racked up a ton of medals in his career in his running career.

He says the key to that sort of success is attention to detail.

Schram was joined on the Dream Team yet again by fellow Tiger junior Cullen Krieg.

Festus senior Jacob Meyers also made the Dream Team for the first time and was voted the Boys’ Cross Country Athlete of the Year.

ut there are plenty of other people who Schram says have helped push him to be great.

Schram was one of 4 Festus runners to finish inside the top 10 at state, helping the Tigers win an eighth consecutive team championship and win the title with the lowest team score ever.
