Festus shutting down facilities to the public again

(Festus) The Festus City Council held a special virtual meeting on Monday in which they canceled the December events of Winterfest and the Santa House. But they will also be shutting down the lobbies of the city facilities to the public. City Administrator Greg Camp says they had several city employees test positive for Covid-19 last week, which prompted the moves.

Camp says the city council voted unanimously to shut things down for the time being.

Camp says all city employees will be working normal full-time shifts, so they will be available to help any residents with problems or questions.

The Festus Public Library will be returning to curb-side services only for residents to check out books. Again you can call or email the city if you need to speak with anyone with city government.
