Festus Tiger Mills Wins “Wonder Woman”  125 Title

Lauren Mills of Festus High School has a championship belt as she won the title match in the 125 weight class at the “Wonder Woman Tournament” on Frday. The two day event at Battle High School in Columbia attracted nearly 700 wrestlers from 7 states. Mills emerged from a bracket of 54 wrestlers to eventually defeat Kendra Bliss a junior from Washington, Missouri for the “Wonder Woman” title. Festus head coach Jarrad Sheppard says Lauren stayed patient and smart throughout her matches.

Mills is 19-0 on the season. Festus had another wrestler who brought home some hardware, Mya  Hairston won a fifth place plaque in the 100 pound class.
Two other Regional Radio Area girls wrestlers made it to the championship match in their respective weight class. Faith Spicer, a senior from Fox at 235 lost in a fall to Catherine Dutton of Willard. Brooke Bennett of North County in the 190 class lost to Kai Hayden of Tulsa Union.
