(Jefferson County) One of the best rivalries on the high school football field will take place tonight in the KJFF Game of the Week as the Hillsboro Hawks play host to the Festus Tigers.

Festus comes into the game having won their last two games, after dropping their first two contests.

Festus Head Coach A.J. Ofodile says early on, there were a few miscues that led to their losses to quality opponents in Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic.

Since the loses in weeks one and two, Festus beat both Windsor and DeSoto by a combined score of 92 to 13.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro has been rolling since the start of the year and are 4-0.

The average score per game during their four wins is 44 to 11.

Hillsboro head coach Bill Sucharki says they’ve focused on a lot of improvements during the offseason and it’s showing.

As far the rivalry is concerned, Hillsboro has gotten the better of Festus, having won nine of the last ten match-ups including two wins over the Tigers just last year.

Coach Sucharski says Festus is always a tough test.

Hillsboro and Festus will renew their football rivalry on Friday and you can hear the game tonight in the KJFF Game of the Week.

Coverage begins with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 6 o’clock.
