Festus train trestle work completed

(Festus) After nearly a full day of work, the train trestle renovations along Horine Road in Festus have been completed by BNSF rail workers. Festus Mayor Sam Richards is pleased to have this work completed and it took some time to get it done.

Richards says they would have liked to see the trestle raised from its current height of 11 feet and 6 inches, but that was too much of an undertaking to happen. However, the intersection will be much safer and wider for vehicles.

The work was completed a little after midnight Thursday morning and is back open to traffic.
