(PARK HILLS) The 5th-seeded Festus Tigers knock off 12th-seed West County by a 56-44 final in the 62nd Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament on J-98.

The Tigers turned to eight different players to get the job done. A little unselfish play by Daniel Portell helped the Tigers to an 18-point lead after 3.

With leading scorer Portell struggling on offense, Festus head coach Jason Therrell said other players rallied around him.

The Tigers earn a date in the quarterfinals tomorrow evening at 5:30 against 4-seed Central on J-98. West County gets bumped to the Loser’s bracket and will face Viburnum today at 2:30.
