Festus, Windsor start JCAA boys’ hoops on KJFF

Conference play begins in the JCAA Large-School Division just in time for the holidays.

The Windsor Owls will meet the Festus Tigers Tuesday on KJFF as both teams will look to open league play with a victory.

These two teams actually met on Saturday in the consolation game of the Steighorst Invitational.

Festus won big 83-58 to improve to 3-2 behind big games from sophomore Ahrmad Branch, senior Collin Reando and juniors Cole Rickermann and Connor Westhoff.

But Tigers head coach Jason Therrell says that outcome means nothing Tuesday.

While Windsor fell to 3-3, senior guard Sonny Amabile has been stellar, averaging almost 17 points per game.

But Owls head coach Ryan McArthy says this team can be at its best when they get big games from senior forward Logan Chaney.

The Saturday victory meant the Tigers have now beaten the Owls in four of the last 5 meetings.

Festus takes on Windsor Tuesday evening at 7.

Coverage starts with the Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
