Festus Wrestling has Bright Future After Good Showing at Districts

(FESTUS) The Festus girls wrestling team had Kirsten Klein, Lindsey Mills, and Maddie Zych participate in this past weekend’s Inaugural Girls Wrestling District Tournament.
Neither Zych nor Mills were able to pick up wins, but Klein reached the 3rd place match in the 110 lb weight division before falling to Riley Baughman of Windsor. Head coach Tom McFarland agreed that having a Tiger wrestler win some matches at districts is a step in the right direction for the program.
Maddie will be graduating but Kirsten and Lindsey will be returning. Coach McFarland expects a good offseason for the both of them.
With her 4th place finish at districts, Kirsten Klein became the first-ever Festus female wrestler to medal.
