Firefighters Respond to New Years Eve Fire in Valle Lake Subdivision

(De Soto) Firefighters with De Soto Rural Fire Protection District responded to a 1st alarm residential fire in the 14,000 block of Alta Drive in Valle Lake subdivision, outside of De Soto on New Years eve.
According to De Soto Rural Fire Chief Tom Fitzgerald, crews were dispatched to the home just before 5 that evening.
In terms of what caused the fire, Chief Fitzgerald had this to say.
The Redcross was called in to assist the residents of the home.
De Soto Rural was assisted by Jefferson R-7, Hematite and Big River Fire Protection Districts along with the De Soto Fire Department.
