First Meeting Held for New Desloge City Council

(Desloge) A newly elected Desloge City Council sat in on their first meeting Monday night following the April 4th election.

City Administrator Stephanie Daffron tells us about the changes for the council.

After taking the oath of office for new members and reorganizing the Desloge City Council, the next item on the agenda was to name a replacement for Mayor Pasternak’s old council seat for the rest of that term.

In other news from the Desloge City Council meeting, it was decided to raise water rates one dollar for every thousand gallons.

This will be the first water rate increase in three years in Desloge.

Mayor Pasternak and Alderman John Wigger were appointed to the Desloge Planning and Zoning Commission.

Also with a new budget to be approved by July 1st, a budget committee was formed.

That will consist of Daffron along with City Clerk Judy Hutchinson, Alderman Travis Cruz and Mayor Pasternak.
