Following Strong District Showing, Central Wrestling Ready for State Tournament

(PARK HILLS) With districts in the rear view mirror, the Central Rebels will send 6 wrestlers to the state tournament this year. Coach Scott Aholdt of the Central Wrestling teams says that he thinks the team performed at their absolute best for the season.

Coach Aholdt has a number of wrestlers returning to states and making their first ever trip to Columbia. While he says that it’s a little extra special to see a wrestlers hard work pay off in their first time appearing in states, history was made this year for a first time ever girls state wrestler in Karlee LaChance.

The Rebels will be sending 6 total wrestlers to the state tournament which gets underway Thursday from Mizzou Arena in Columbia. Tune in to J98 for live updates from the wrestling tournament.
