Former Fire Chief of Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department Loses Cancer Fight

(Kinsey) A former chief of a local fire department passed away Tuesday night.

Retired Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kevin Keyser lost a hard fought battle to cancer.

Bill Bailey is a retired firefighter with the Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department.

He worked alongside Chief Keyser and knew him well.

Chief Keyser had served in the fire service for more than 25 years.

Keyser’s son-in-law Dale Whitener is the current chief of the department.

There’s going to be a private service for Chief Kevin Kesyer.

A celebration of life for the public will be held at a later date.

The Kinsey Volunteer Fire Department’s headquarters is located west of Bloomsdale off Highway ‘D-D’ in northern Ste. Genevieve County.
