(Hillsboro) A ranking member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is officially retiring next week. Major Gary Higginbotham is calling it a career after a lengthy run with the department. He says he didn’t actually start his law enforcement career at an early age.
Former Sheriff Glenn Boyer says he was pleased to see the Major moved up the ranks over the years.
Boyer says Higginbotham had some things to learn early on.
Major Gary Higginbotham’s final day with the Sheriff’s Office is next Tuesday. He’s been a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office since 1993.
