Former Senator Engler Remembers Former Columbia Senator who Died This Week

(Columbia) A former Missouri state senator and state representative who championed disability rights died after suffering an apparent heart attack Wednesday night.

Chuck Graham of Columbia passed away at the age 55.

Former State Senator and State Representative Kevin Engler of Farmington knew Graham well.

Even though Graham was from Columbia, he would help out the disability community throughout the state.

He had worked with Rich Blakely who passed away a few years ago.

Blakely was a past executive director of the Disabled Citizens Alliance for Independence in Viburnum.

Chuck Graham served 12 years in the Missouri Legislature…eight in the House and four in the Senate.

Graham had emphasized the importance of job opportunities for residents with disabilities across the state.
