(ARNOLD) Fox Athletic Director Zack Brown appeared on KJFF Sports Talk Tuesday to share his thoughts on the upcoming 2018-19 sports season, which begins Friday for Fox football with Festus coming to town.

Brown shares with us his conversation with head coach Brent Tinker about Festus being their Week 1 opponent.

Brown has some information about homecoming on September 21st against Oakville.

And the homecoming dance would be the following day on Saturday, September 22nd. Brown talked about the girls’ volleyball program and the coaching change made this summer.

Volleyball opens the season next Tuesday at Rockwood Summit and follows that up with its first home game of the year against Ladue Horton Watkins on Tuesday, September 4th.

Other fall sports include girls’ golf, boys’ soccer, softball, and cross country. Brown says to keep an eye out for Gracie George, Lauren Duff, Amie Schubert and Grace Parker in softball; sophomore Austin Burch in boys soccer; Amie Martin in girls cross country; and Macyn and Sydney Young along with Amelia Chapman in girls golf.

Then there’s wrestling in the winter for Fox, with head coach Amond Prater now at Fontbonne and assistant coach Tyson Campbell taking his place.

Campbell actually wrestled at Fox, finishing with a 62-16 career record and placing 6th at state twice, then going on to wrestle at Oklahoma City University. Fox wrestling will return senior Dylan Looney, who finished 6th at state in the 126-pound weight class, and Joseph Johnson, a 4th place medalist at state in the 285-pound weight class. Tune in Wednesday at 4:15 to KJFF Sports Talk with Crystal City Athletic Director Ken Jones.
