(ARNOLD) The Fox Warriors football team has taken Jefferson County by storm this year, making history with their first 6-0 record since 1966.

On this journey to 6-0, Fox has beaten Festus, Lindbergh, Rockwood Summit, Mehlville, Oakville, and Marquette. 8th-year head coach Brent Tinker points out the two biggest victories for the Warriors are Summit, a 22-19 final, and Marquette, a 4th quarter come-from-behind victory with Fox prevailing 21-17.

Senior quarterback Gavin McGinness, senior running back Cole Elwood, and senior fullback Bob Neibert have all put up the stats, combing for 1,731 rushing yards and 20 of the team’s 24 offensive touchdowns. Coach Tinker would like to focus though on the “unsung heroes” as he put it, that are the true strength of the team.

Tinker shares with us the locker room and practice field conversations he has every day with his players.

He adds that regardless of record, he wants the team to play with confidence but also wants them to be humble. Finally, coach Tinker discusses the motivation behind this team to continue to make history and try to get that undefeated 9-0 record that the 1966 Fox team had.

The Fox Warriors will put their historic 6-0 record on the line Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the 4-2 Hazelwood East Spartans.
