Fox vs Festus to start high school baseball on KJFF

(Arnold) For the first time in 2 years, high school baseball is back in Jefferson County.

The Festus Tigers visit the Fox Warriors Tuesday on KJFF in an opening-week showdown.

Festus split its first 2 games of the season over the weekend, as they look to get back to the winning ways that eluded them in 2019’s 6-16 campaign.

With seniors Cole Wagner and Collin Reando leading the charge, Tigers head coach Jeff Montgomery thinks his team is poised for a turnaround.

Fox starts its season with an almost entirely new roster from the one that went 13-7 and came up just short in the Class 5 District 2 semifinals.

But Warriors head coach Neil Richardson is excited to have an experienced starting pitcher back in senior Clay Street.

The Warriors knocked off the Tigers 9-5 last time they met and won two of the 3 meetings since 2015.

Festus faces Fox Tuesday afternoon with pregame coverage starting at 4 on AM 1400 KJFF.
