Fox’s Martin goes the distance and makes girls track Dream Team

The long race of Amie Martin’s high school career has ended, and the Fox Warrior crosses the finish line as a Regional Radio Dream Team athlete for girls track and field after earning all-state honors in the 3200-meter run and also qualifying for the Class 5 state meet in the 1600 meters.

Martin says the validation of a Dream Team selection is special.

Martin finishes her high school career having qualified for state twice in the 3200 and scoring more points for the Fox girls track team than any other Warrior.

She also broke a 31-year-old school record in the 3200 with a time of just over 11 minutes.

Martin credtis her successes in track and cross country to coaches seeing potential in her early on.

Martin is still on the move and will continue distance running at Concordia University-Nebraska. To hear the full interview with Amie Martin, click play on the audio below.
