Fredericktown Man & Ironton Woman Seriously Injured in Crash in Doe Run

(Doe Run) Two people received serious injuries in a two vehicle accident Friday morning in St. Francois County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened on Highway 221 near First Street in Doe Run when 54-year-old Floyd Hodges of Fredericktown, who was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck, fell asleep which caused his truck to cross the centerline, striking the left bumper of a Chevy Malibu driven by 21-year-old Shailyn Robinson of Ironton.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to run off the road.

Robinson and Hodges both received serious injuries and they were both flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
