The Class 2 District 1 boys’ soccer tournament gets underway Monday in Perryville with the semifinals, the latter of which will feature the Fredericktown Blackcats taking on the host Perryville Pirates on the MyMoInfo SportsStream.

Perryville is 16-5, and the second-seeded Pirates are ranked fifth in the state in Class 2.

Head coach Jerry Fulton knew this group was special early on.

Fredericktown is 7-10 and broke a 4-game losing streak that included a 7-1 loss to Perryville by beating DeSoto 2-0 to wrap up the regular season.
Assistant coach Leo Sikes says the Blackcats got back on track by changing some things up.

The winner faces either St. Pius or Cape Notre Dame for the district championship Wednesday night.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 Monday night on the MyMoInfo SportsStream.
