(Fredericktown) Fredericktown Blackcats senior Alivia Buxton has been named the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.
Buxton continued to make history in helping Fredericktown win its second-ever girls’ soccer tournament.
At the Christian Invitational in O’Fallon, Buxton scored 15 goals in 3 matches.
That includes a school-record 8 goals against the host Christian Eagles in the championship match Saturday, the third-highest total in a high school game in Missouri history.
5 more goals Monday in a win over Kelly brought Buxton’s total to a whopping 53 goals this season and also helped her reach 100 career goals scored.
Before she starts her collegiate career at Mississippi State, Buxton has powered the Blackcats to a 12-3-1 record and a #9 ranking in Class 2.
As Athlete of the Week, she receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
