Funeral van thieves arrested in Festus

(Festus) On Thursday, a funeral home van was stolen from a north St. Louis County Quik Trip with a body inside the vehicle. Police were called to the gas station at Highway 367 and Parker Road in the Spanish Lake area of North County around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle. The van was left running and unattended in the parking lot. The vehicle was spotted in Festus this (Friday) morning, and Festus police dispatcher Fisher says they were notified around 9:30.

The body of the woman inside the van was still there when the suspects were arrested. The two suspects, whose names have not been released, were turned over to St. Louis County police and charges are pending.
