Get Ready For Deer Season At The Sgt. Darrell S. Cole Memorial Shooting Range

(Park Hills) Deer season is right around the corner. If you want to get some practice in you can head over to the Sgt. Darrell S. Cole Memorial Shooting Range on the grounds of St. Joe State Park.

Barry Wilfong is the range director.

Wilfong says the goals of the shooting range are safety and to serve the community.

While temperatures have been scorching lately, Wilfong says two aspects of the range make it an ideal outdoor range.

Wilfong says you can purchase ammo at the range.

Hours for the Sgt. Darrell S. Cole Memorial Shooting Range at St. Joe State Park in Park Hills are Wednesday through Friday from 11 until 7 and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The general rate is 8 dollars an hour. It’s 7 for military and public safety officials.
