(HERCULANEUM) KJFF has a basketball doubleheader Friday night as the Grandview and Herculaneum girl’s and boy’s teams clash in a Jefferson County Small Schools Conference rivalry.

Tipping off first will be the Grandview Lady Eagles and Herky Lady Blackcats. Grandview can clinch the conference title outright with a win over Herky, currently sitting at 4-0 and 11-7 overall. Head coach Steve Noblitt says his team is aware of the stakes and is ready to go.

 
Herky still has three conference games to play including tonight. They are 2-0 in the conference and 11-8 overall. The Blackcats have a chance to play spoiler and also keep their hopes alive of making a run at the title. Head coach Riley Blair says his girls are also aware of the stakes and that facing Grandview presents many challenges.

 
This will be the 2nd time the girls have met this season with Grandview taking the first one 50-41 to win the Doe Run Classic.

The boys will follow the girls with Grandview coming in at 3-17 overall and 0-2 in the Small Schools standings. Eagles head coach Taylor Hassell says the team is experiencing growing pains but that the pieces are there to be successful.

 
Herky is 5-12 overall and 0-1 in the conference. Head coach Jason Jarvis hopes his guys can replicate their performance in the Bruce Thomas Tournament when they beat Grandview 76-50.

 
The doubleheader Friday night gets going with the girls at 7 and boys at 8:30. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
