Girls’ hoops super sophomores collide when Festus meets Hillsboro on KJFF

A couple of young studs will lead their teams onto the girls’ basketball court when the Festus Tigers meet the Hillsboro Hawks Thursday at KJFF.

Festus has won back-to-back games to improve to 3-5 thanks to largely to point guard Josie Allen.

The sophomore leads the Tigers with almost 17 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Head coach Steve McFarland says teammates are taking notice of what Allen can do.

Hillsboro may have lost 3 straight to fall to 4-9, but a young Hawks team has shown promise because of players like forward Dyllan Day.

The sophomore leads Hillsboro in scoring and is second in rebounding, and head coach Andrew Hubbard says she’s been a breakout star.

It’s been almost 7 years and 9 straight games since the Hawks beat the Tigers.

Hillsboro will look to knock off Festus Thursday evening at 7.

Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
