Girls Night Out Raises 8 Thousand For United Way Of St. Francois County

(Farmington) It was a record setting night Thursday for the United Way of St. Francois County, as it raised just over 8 thousand dollars during it’s Girls Night Out Celebration at Twin Oaks Winery just outside of Farmington. Executive Director Clay Whitener says it was a great night for the group.

This will be the last Girls Night Out for Whitener, who will be stepping down in the next few months as executive director. We asked him what the United Way has meant to him.

In addition to Whitener being recognized by the board of directors for his efforts, the board also recognized Jackie Berry. Berry organized the Girls Night Out celebration for many years. In addition to raising just over 8 thousand dollars for the United Way, thousands of dollars of gift cards were collected for the Season of Hope, operated by the St. Francois County Community Partnership.
