Governor Appoints Piedmont Man to Coroner Position in Wayne County

(Piedmont) Governor Parson made a local appointment today.

The governor chose Mark Smith of Piedmont as the coroner of Wayne County.

Smith serves as a paramedic with the Clearwater Ambulance District, is a member of the Piedmont Fire Department and he had been serving as deputy coroner of Wayne County.

He has held his paramedic license since 2012 and has nearly 15 years of emergency management service experience.

Smith is also a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts and regularly volunteers with the organization.
