The average age of a farmer in the state of Missouri is 58, but Governor Mike Parson believes the state’s pork industry is one entity that is reaching young people right now.

Parson says getting young people involved in agriculture is critical to the future.


The governor has proclaimed October as “Pork Month” in Missouri, noting the state’s pork industry ranks sixth in the nation and contributes one-point-six billion dollars annually to the state’s economy.
