Governor Parson Visits COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Mercy Hospital Jefferson on Tuesday

(Festus/Crystal City) Missouri Governor Mike Parson stopped by Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus on Tuesday afternoon to visit an ongoing COVID-19 vaccination clinic.

The governor was updated by health officials on the vaccination progress in Jefferson County.

Governor Parson praised Mercy and its health care workers for making progress in distributing the vaccine.

Parson says the daily number of coronavirus cases continues to go down in the state.

So far Mercy Jefferson has distributed 18,000 doses of the vaccine, 600 of those doses were administered at Tuesday’s clinic.

Statewide, more than 1.5 million Missourians, nearly 25%, have been given an initial vaccine dose, and more than 875,000 have been fully vaccinated.

The governor’s schedule was busy on Tuesday. After leaving Festus he would then visit the construction site for the new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency West campus in St. Louis, before speaking at the Missouri Realtors Statewide Conference in Columbia.
