(Jefferson City) Governor Mike Parson signed Missouri’s 35-point-3 billion dollar state operating budget for the new fiscal year Tuesday.

However, Parson has put the brakes on about 448-million dollars in budget restrictions, the largest one is more than 123 million to K through 12 education.

Another budget withhold is nearly 28 million to four-year colleges and universities.

Parson says COVID-19 has severely impacted Missouri’s anticipated economic growth and the state is now experiencing significant revenue declines.
