Grandview Boys Basketball Has New Coach, New Mentality for 2018-19 Season

(HILLSBORO) 2013 Hillsboro graduate Taylor Hassell is the new man in charge of Grandview boys basketball and is ready for the grind of the 2018-19 season. The first set of action for the Eagles will be a jamboree in Ste. Genevieve Saturday. Then Grandview will face Crystal City in the first round of the Rolla “Duke” Herbert Tournament the Monday after Thanksgiving to officially begin the season.

As a first-year head coach, Hassell already has a pretty good idea what he wants from his players.

Coach Hassell talks about some of the guys that fit into this mentality.

When Coach Hassell signed on to coach Grandview boys basketball, he was first thrust into the role of wide receivers coach for the football team under head man Dave Dallas. Hassell says it was very much worth it.

Eagles boys basketball will look to turn things around and improve its 6-19 record from last season under first-year head coach Taylor Hassell. Grandview takes on Crystal City in the first round of the Rolla “Duke” Herbert Tournament at 5 p.m. on AM 1400 KJFF.
