Grandview greets Crystal City for boys’ hoops rivalry on KJFF
(Crystal City) A couple of conference and county rivals collide in boys’ basketball Friday when the Grandview Eagles take on the Crystal City Hornets on KJFF.
Both teams are looking to play their best basketball in the second half of the season.
Grandview has been unable to find consistent winning all season.
Even as senior Chase Wilson pours in more than 18 points per game, 3 straight losses for the Eagles have dropped them to 3-11.
Head coach Terry Edwards says a variety of offensive issues have plagued his team.
Crystal City started the season 4-4 but has lost five straight.
The Hornets are getting senior forward Calloway Dashner back from injury, as he leads the team by averaging better than 15 points and 7 rebounds a game.
It’s one of the reasons why, even amidst the recent losses, head coach Phil Tessereau believes his team is actually headed in the right direction.
The Eagles defeated the Hornets 59-50 when they met in the Rolla “Duke” Herbert Classic last month.
Crystal City hosts Grandview Friday evening with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
