Grandview’s Moore named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Dittmer) Grandview Eagles junior Natalee Moore is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

But she’s no ordinary athlete having a great week.

Moore excelled in 2 different sports, starting with helping the girls’ track and field team win the 4-by-100 and 4-by-200 meter relays at their home meet.

Grandview track coach Joe Cagel says Moore is consistently pushing her teammates.

But Moore was not done.

She hit the softball diamond and managed to come up with 7 hits, 2 doubles, 3 home runs, 6 runs scored, 8 runs batted in and 2 stolen bases across wins against Meadow Heights and Oak Ridge

But Eagles head coach Ann Dugan says the greatest accomplishment might have been taking the ball as a starting pitcher for the first time and throwing a complete game in the Meadow Heights win.

Moore raised her batting average to .700 this season and is now up to 5 home runs and 14 RBI.

This is also the second medal in the month of April for Moore on the track, as she was part of the 4×200 relay team that finished second at the Mineral Area Relays.

As Athlete of the Week, she receives a T-shirt, a certificate, and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
