Grandview’s Moore talks 2-sport schedule, Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Dittmer) Grandview Eagles junior Natalee Moore is a busy bee once spring arrives.

But she’s making the most of her opportunities, showcasing her skills in 2 sports on her way to being named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

Moore had a terrific couple of days in track & field and softball, and while she’s a little worn out, she says she’d do it all over again.

The week began with Moore helping the Grandview girls’ relay teams win gold at their home meet Thursday in the 4-by-100 and 4-by-200-meters.

Moore says her teammates push her every day in practice, and it’s starting to show up on meet day.

Moore turned around the next day and helped the Eagles knock off Meadow Heights softball 8-7.

Moore stepped up at the plate to record 4 hits, 2 doubles, 3 runs scored, a run batted in and 2 steals.

But it was the complete-game victory as the team’s pitcher that was Moore’s proudest moment in that win, especially after bouncing between sports.

And yet, there was some icing on the cake in a whirlwind few days.

Moore slugged out 3 home runs and 7 RBI in a win over Oak Ridge on Monday, a game she admits she had promised to be a good one on her father’s special day.

In total, Moore has now hit 7 homers on the diamond this season, and she’s helped the girls’ relay teams win 3 medals just in the month of April.

As Athlete of the Week, she receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon good for one free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
