Guns stolen from Festus home, police investigating

(Festus) Two guns were stolen from a home off Menkhus Avenue in Festus and authorities are investigating.

Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis says the victims reported the weapons missing on March 30th.

The two pistols are valued around $800. In a separate incident, Festus police were able to catch a suspect who was reportedly rummaging through unlocked vehicles around town.

Chief Lewis says they have been dealing with the same car clotting problems like many law enforcement agencies in the region.

The name of the 35-year-old Festus resident has not been released pending formal charges from the prosecuting attorney’s office.
