Halloween Safety for Kiddos

(Jefferson County) Dozens of trick or treaters will be lining the streets and sidewalks all over the area Thursday evening for Halloween festivities.
Corporal Juston Wheetley with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says motorists need to always be mindful of their surroundings, especially tonight.
Wheetley adds to make sure and check the Halloween candy before eating it.
There is a handful of cities in Jefferson County that have scheduled hours in which trick or treating is allowed. The Cities of Festus, Crystal City, Pevely and De Soto only allow trick or treating Thursday evening from 6 until 9.
The City of Hillsboro has a set time of 6 until 8 pm while kids in Herculaneum can trick or treat from 5:30 until 9 pm.Other cities in Jefferson County such as Byrnes Mill as well as Arnold do not have set times for trick or treating Thursday evening.
