Harold Everette Hurtgen, of Festus, passed away, Saturday (7/4) at the age of 76. Harold worked as a warehouse manager for Spirco Environmental until his retirement. You could find Harold fishing or spending time with his grandchildren at any given time when he wasn’t at the church. He was a member of the Festus VFW, Charter member of Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, Past Board Member of the Hematite Fire Department, served as an Independent Military Missionary for 13 years, he was a volunteer at the Veteran VA hospital for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Jonathan Hurtgen of De Soto, and Angela of Alabama, his brothers, Richard Hurtgen of Chillicothe, Jerry Hurtgen of Hillsboro, his sister, Lucille Hurtgen of De Soto, three grandchildren, a sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services for Harold Hurtgen will be held this Thursday (7/9) morning at 9 at Second Baptist Church in Festus. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahn Funeral Home Twin City Chapel in Festus.
