Have a Blast This Weekend at the Ste. Genevieve County Fair

(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve County Fair unofficially began Thursday afternoon at the K of C Hall.

It was the annual 4-H chicken fry fundraiser with a great crowd attending.

Janet Braun was in charge of the chicken fry.

The fair officially gets underway Friday morning at 10 at the fairgrounds with the fair queen fashion competition.

Thursday afternoon, queen contestants were given a couple of questions from the judges and then they had to answer the best way possible.

Leila Schmitt is just 10-years-old but she’s participated in the pageant since she was 3.

Friday night at 7, it’s the always-exciting truck pull.

Fair volunteer Hope Dougherty says all truck pullers are welcome, along with spectators.

There’s also live music Friday night and Saturday night.

Also, there’s a demolition derby Saturday night.

Many other fair events are also scheduled to take place this weekend.

The Ste. Genevieve County Fair continues through Sunday afternoon.
