Hawley Ousted From Senate Armed Services Committee

(Washington D.C.) Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley is no longer a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The publication Roll Call reports that Hawley was ousted from the committee as payback for supporting Florida Senator Rick Scott’s bid to oust Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell as Senate Minority Leader and for delaying confirmation votes on several Defense Department nominees last year.

A spokesperson for Hawley denies the claims, saying he voluntarily stepped down.

Hawley’s replacement on the Senate Armed Services Committee is fellow Missouri Republican U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt.
