Herculaneum asking to extend its 1/2 cent sales tax

(Herculaneum) The City of Herculaneum will be asking residents to approve its current 1/2 cent capital improvement sales tax extension for the upkeep of its sewer treatment plant. City Administrator Jim Kasten says they need to keep this funding going.

Kasten says the treatment plant is in need of upgrades and repairs.

Kasten says there are other things needed at the plant, and they are hoping to not have to raise sewer rates.

The issue will be on the April election ballot and will need a simple majority to pass.
