(HERCULANEUM) The Herculaneum High School baseball team is going to honor the 1999 state champion Blackcats before Tuesday’s game against the Jefferson Blue Jays, which you can listen to on AM 1400 KJFF.

Current Herky head coach Zac Bone has some kind words for Andy Runzi, the head coach of that championship squad, who will be recognized along with assistant coach Bob Thompson during the pregame ceremony.

 
As for the game, the Blue Jays enter at 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the Jefferson County Conference standings. Head coach Robert Kuehnle notes that the pitching has been solid all season and it begins with starters Levi Ebersoldt and Jacob Melton.

 
The Blackcats are 5-6-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. Coach Bone says the offense has been coming around lately.

 
After coaches Andy Runzi and Bob Thompson are recognized, first pitch Tuesday will be at 4:30 at Andy Runzi Field behind Senn-Thomas Middle School in Herculaneum. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 4:15 on AM 1400 KJFF.
