Herculaneum’s Eddyson Reeves is Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(HERCULANEUM)  Congratulations to Eddyson Reeves of Herculaneum High School, she is the “Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.” Eddyson won the Class 1 District 1 championship match at the 130 weight class this past weekend to advance to “state” next week. Reeves won the district title by pinning Audrey DeClue of St. Clair. According to Reeves, she was familiar with DeClue.

Reeves is the only female wrestler in the Herculaneum program. With that being the case, Eddyson’s sister Emerson helps her warm up before matches.

Herculaneum wrestling coach Chris Bahr says Eddyson has worked hard this season to qualify for state.

Eddyson Reeves will be heading off to state with a record of 37-1, her only loss was to an opponent from Illinois in a tournament at Seckman. Eddyson is the first female wrestler from Herculaneum to become a district champion and thereby will be the first female from Herky to wrestle at the state championship. The Class 1 state championship is slated for next Wednesday and Thursday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

For being named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week, Eddyson will receive a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s, a certificate and a T-shirt.
