Herky, Seckman punch tickets to Duke Herbert Classic championship on KJFF

(Crystal City) The Herculaneum Blackcats and Seckman Jaguars came away with big wins in the semifinals of the Rolla “Duke” Herbert Classic Wednesday night on KJFF.

In the first game, Herculaneum grinded out a 48-44 win over the St. Vincent Indians.

Despite trailing by as much as 10 in the first half, the Blackcats rallied thanks to hustle and highlight-reel plays from senior forward Dallin Fuller.

Fuller finished with 12 points and was the Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game.

After the comeback, Herky held on for the win thanks to defense.

Herculaneum ends an 8-game losing streak to St. Vincent.

While the Blackcats start the season 3-0, St. Vincent falls to 1-1.

In the second semifinal, Seckman knocked off Saxony Lutheran 63-55.

Despite a strong offensive night, the effort plays by guys like senior forward Ethan Miller proved to be crucial.

But the Jaguars would still need one more big shot to put away the victory.

Seckman improves to 2-0 and will play against Herculaneum in the championship game Friday night.
