High School Girls Basketball Returns to KJFF with Herculaneum Hosting Festus on Friday

(HERCULANEUM) The girl’s high school basketball game of the week is Friday night on KJFF featuring the Festus Tigers at the Herculaneum Blackcats.

The Lady Tigers are 1-2 to start the season while the Lady Blackcats are 3-3. Neither team has played since Saturday’s JCAA Conference Shootout at Jefferson College due to the wintry weather forcing cancellations of other games earlier this week.

Festus Head Coach Steve McFarland says that it’s been a challenge on the defensive end with an inexperienced bench and only a few games under their belt.

The Lady Blackcats have been a bit more fortunate with the fact that they’ve played six games. People that follow girls basketball in Jefferson County are plenty aware of Paige Fowler and Taylor Metcalf for Herky.

Head Coach Riley Blair is getting good production from them but says that there are things for them and the others to work on.

Festus and Herculaneum are scheduled to tip-off at Herculaneum High School at 7. Pregame coverage Friday night begins at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
