Highway Patrol on winter safety and holiday weekend crash numbers

(Jefferson County) In light of the recent snowfall on Thursday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to play it safe when it comes to travelling to and from any destination during winter weather.

Corporal Logan Bolton with the patrol has a few safety tips to also keep in mind during winter storms.

It’s also good to have a full tank of gas during the winter and if you get stranded in a storm, the best thing to do is wait in your car for help to arrive.

Motorists can also get the latest road conditions by visiting Traveler.MoDOT.org.

Other than winter weather safety, Corporal Bolton went over the New Year’s Holiday weekend traffic crash numbers in the Troop C region.

The highway patrol conducted operation C.A.R.E. throughout the holiday counting period which was from December 30th through January 2nd.
