(Jefferson County) The Missouri State Highway Patrol is ready for the spring months ahead which typically means dealing with increased traffic flow with the warmer weather.

Not only will troopers be busy dealing with increased traffic and patrolling work zones, but Corporal Juston Wheetley with the highway patrol says flooding always becomes a concern in the spring.

Unfortunately, a lot of drowning deaths have occurred from those that disobeyed closed roads due to flooding.

Troopers will work side by side with MoDOT officials to close roads as needed when flooding occurs.
