Hillsboro Baseball HC Kevin Lucas Reacts to Michael Brewer Getting Drafted by the Texas Rangers

(HILLSBORO) Hillsboro pitcher and infielder Michael Brewer was drafted in the 32nd round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday by the Texas Rangers.

Hawks head coach Kevin Lucas agrees that this is pretty awesome.

 
Coach Lucas says that it means a ton to him to be a part of a chapter in the book of Brewer.

 
Coach Lucas kept an eye on Day 3 of the MLB Draft when he discovered through Michael that rumors were that he was getting selected at some point that day.

 
Michael Brewer will now have to decide between signing with the Texas Rangers and beginning his professional career in the minors or continue with his full ride to Southern Miss. Coach Lucas says that Michael has a lot of people in his corner with possibly none bigger than Michael’s father, Matthew, who was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 19th round of the 1991 MLB Draft.
