(HILLSBORO) The Hillsboro boys soccer team was very close last season to winning a 2nd district championship in the last three years but fell 2-1 in overtime to Windsor in the Class 3 District 2 finals. However, the loss for Hillsboro is behind them now and head coach Chris Schacht says that the bulk of his returning players have taken the time this off-season to get better.

Seth Oshia was the main goalkeeper last year for the Hawks, but he graduated and now plays soccer at Central Methodist. Coach Schacht has a familiar face returning as well as a JV kid.

Set in stone in the midfield for the Hawks is Mark Moore, Mitchel Hickson, and Sergio Cruz.

Speaking of the forwards…

The Hillsboro Hawks will look to get back to the district finals for the 10th year in a row and win it for the 3rd time in the last 10 years. The trek to the top begins Tuesday at Christian Brothers Academy.
